Moritzgraven
A canal planned to drain Lake Ökvattnet west of Östra Falmark.
History:
The county constable Morits in Långviken wanted to drain Lake Ökvattnet and as noone else helped him, he started the project alone.
He wanted to lead the water from Ökvattnet to Lake Bodaträsket and started to dig a canal for his own money. The works started about 1820 and were stopped, but not finished, in 1830. By then Moritz ran out of money and had to leave the area as a destituted man.
There are still visible remains of the works that were done.
