Brunneby Mansion
Very beautifully situated somewhat east of Borensberg you find Brunneby Mansion. This estate is known from the 13th century and several of the old Swedish royal families have owned it. During the mid 18th entury it was bought by baron Gustav Adolf Makaléer. He built the main house we see today, even though it was somewhat enlarged during the 1850ies.
Beside this mansion is the old parish church of Brunneby from the 13th century. The parish built a new church in 1828 and from then on the old church was used as a ware-house. In 1964 Kungliga Vitterhetsakademien, The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, bought the old church and has renovated it. It is now occacionally used as a church.
