Short history:
The lock at Gustavsfors that connects Western Silen to Dalsland canal was planned from the very start. As work progressed the Canal company realized that they ought to continue with a lock at Krokfors to connect Eastern Silen as well.
The parliament granted permission and money in 1866 and the job was done by lieutenant P. Laurell who managed to do the job for 66 500 SEK. The lock was finished on July 1st 1869.
