Dalsland canal
The quartz quarry at Ärr
The last regular freighters within the Dalsland canal system served this quartz quarry. The four freighters Lindö, Sune, Dalder and Monica carried quartz from the quarry to to the works in Wargön up to december 1971 when they left the canal. The very last one was Lindö with a 111,1 ton cargo which was unloaded in Vänersborg and carried the last bit on lorry to Wargön.
Monica was built as late as 1961 especially for this route.
