Björkefors canal

Evidently a draining canal. Judging from the inscription on the memorial stone by the little bridge, the canal was finish 1824 or even earlier.

The inscription:
"HÄR WANNS
FRÅN OLÄNDIG MOSSE
BÖRDIGT FÄLT
---------
ÅT FÖRETAGETS FRÄMJARE
Doct AF. KJELLIN
RESTES MINNESSTENEN
KRINGBOENDES TACKSAMHET
1824"

Which all means:
Fertile soil from poor moor.
-----
Stone erected in memory of
the projects promotor
Dr AF. Kjellin
by grateful neighbours
