Vuotso canal
Vuotson kanava
Lokka and Porttipahta are two big artifically made lakes used as reservoars for the powerplant in Kitinen. This is in the northenmost part of Finland, in a province called Lappland.
Between the two lakes the water runs through Vuotso canal which is also frequently used by local fishermen. The canal has no locks and it is 10 kilometer long and 1,5 meter deep.
The Lokka lake was built in 1967, the Porttipahta lake in 1970 and the canal was built in 1980.
