Träsk canal
Träskin kanava
Houtskär is a municipality on islands on the southwestern Finnish coast about 40 kilometers soutwest of Åbo. Through the main island Houtskär a new canal, Träsk canal, is beeing built between Västersunden and Östersunden. The canal is 600 meters long, 6 meter wide at the bottom and 1,8 meter deep.
The canal is supposed to be finished in 2006.
The main aim is to improve the waterquality in Västerviken and Österviken, but also to create a fairway for small boats.
