Heinäjoki floating canal
Heinäjoen uittokanava

The canal is built beside the Heinäjoki creek close to Pihtiputaa municipality center in Mellersta Finland. It is about 900 meter long. It is a part of the floating fairways in the northern parts of the Kymmene watersystem.
Flotaing ceased through this canal several decades ago.
The environmental office is planning to partly fill the canal to decrease the waterflow. The situation for the Alajärvi lake is getting worse all the time due to the low waterlevel.

If you have further information about this canal, do mail us about it.
